Cheers fellas, now that I’ve slept a couple of hours ( 4 actually 
) I’m writing the events concerning our small group of fanatics with Cataclysm’s launch 
Preparation
So the idea came to my mind how fun it would be to try to finally compete for realmfirst lvl 85 with this new expansion incoming.
I’ve popped the idea for some of my friends and they liked the idea, I thought we had a pretty solid chance on getting the “feat”.
So we’ve decided to try and prepared accordingly. Swfitness pots, tuskarr’s vitality, nitro boosts, enchant scroll for new weapons, flasks, speed/healing pots and a couple mighty rage pots for my warrior friend

The Happening
So blizz didn’t realize or didn’t care to realize if they made their ‘over nine-f***ing-thousand userbase’ relog for the sake of enabling cataclysm content all at the same time their login servers could use some extra pumpkin juice… (At least it wasn’t laggy not for me at least.) So after an hour of trying to log in I’ve actually got in the game and quickly threw in my prestocked 25 dailys before in Icecrown, went for dala by ring teleport, trained azeroth flying there, HS to Orgrimmar chose Hyjal to level since Vasjh’ir is “teh suck” for quick leveling and just as i thought that being 1 hour late in logging in fucked me over bigtime and Hyjal took waay too long to get out of :\
By the time I had 1 other hunter who was already in before me and kudos to him he got realm first ahead of me by a fair margin. Not sure if I could blame this on the damn login servers but it’s sure as hell didn’t help me waiting for 6 god damn mobs to respawn with a 5 min timer when 412312341232134213 people are camping them …
The new quest chaining system is epicly sucky aswell if you’re stuck on a bugged quest for some reason (buggy phasing, quest objectives wrongly shown on blizzard’s own in-game quest map etc) you can pretty much do nothing about it. You have to complete each and every quest pretty much in the exact order or you won’t be able to move on to the next quest hub. There’s insanely little flexibility in quest choices. And these new, funny but sometimes horribly annoying little cinematics on quests especially in uldum which most of the times you can’t skip or if you chose to skip the quest won’t get completed/bug/WRAAAARRRRRR!!! *FFFFFFFUUUUUU* … makes you wanna destroy something with a baseball bat.
Anyway my friend “Flaus” AkA “Szkirox” managed to get the realm first 85 warrior at least, I’m happy for him
The Moral of This Story
Based on beta experiences by others we expected a lot longer grind for 85. This was ridiculously easy and short tbh and that 9.1 million EXP required for the last level is really making you wanna kill yourself in the end, they really should have just sticked with 10 new levels instead of 5 for a more balanced leveling experience! =(
(Btw whoever came up with that quest where you have to escort a goblin squad to that dragonmaw gate should jump of some very high place and make a squishy sound srsly, objective: “blow up gate” -okay you didn’t give me any explosives just some retarded ‘ramboblackops’ goblins with no further info whatsoever oh wait so I should just stand motionless at the gate and the goblins will blow it up eventually if i stay still, nvm *I probably got cranky at that point*)
We did the new nagrand/zuldrak-ish ring of blood thingie and when you threw in 6*104k XP quests to see they only gave about 5-6% of your level you go into ‘zerk mode
Alltogether the new quests are great with lore and fun aswell. There are a horrid amount of buggy mechanics and quests marked wrongly on the map especially in uldum. Much more thant here were in WotLK leveling. The low amount of developers assigned to WoW is taking it’s toll on the quality of the game.
