Future Graphics Technologies – Atomontage
Some time ago I wrote up a bit on next-gen graphics engines based on voxels (atoms) making the virtual world seemingly infinitely more realistic and detailed for the viewer.
Here comes another engine using the same concept as before with Euclideon called Atomontage.
Here goes their demo recorded with an external cam though since their test PC couldn’t handle rendering and recording at the same time:
It’s definitely worth keeping an eye out for these kinds of engines, since they may very well be the next step for photorealistic graphics in games besides raytracing engines.
